Fashion label Rosengarn launches Pompöös collection

Latex fashion has a touch of extravagance about it, as the material is still considered outlandish by most people. And the latest collection from the Prummern-based latex fashion studio, Rosengarn, emphasizes the special nature of the latex look, as it was created in collaboration with designer Harald Glööckler and his label “Pompöös”. “I was delighted to receive Harald Glööckler’s call,” says Rosengarn owner and designer Karin Plum. “It’s another sign that latex has arrived in the high-end fashion sector. Back in 2013, Oscar de la Renta, who was already 80 at the time, presented a latex collection that was as elegant as it was wearable. In February at this year’s Paris Fashion Show, Saint Laurent also showed latex fashion suitable for everyday wear and latex has been on trend ever since the Kardashians started wearing it. More and more fashionistas now have a latex model in their wardrobe, because it always attracts attention.” Harald Glööckler also makes skillful use of the material. As with the Ös, Glööckler’s designs can always be a little more sophisticated, but here the smooth, supple latex counterbalances the baroque cuts, and the pieces are anything but everyday, but at the same time pretty cool – Marie-Antoinette goes Grease. The models in the collection will be offered in black, red and gold, mostly in shiny latex, but some items will also be available in matt latex, textured latex or marbled latex.

Vom großen Auftritt bis alltagstauglich

Anyone familiar with Karin Plum’s Prummern atelier will know that, in addition to sophisticated jackets and dresses for a grand entrance, she also produces street style latex clothing for men, such as matt latex jeans, latex shirts and latex cargo pants. This wide range is important to the unpretentious Karin Plum and all latex fans, because although they are fashion-conscious, they do not lose sight of the practical aspects. The eco-balance of the vegan natural material is also impressive. With ‘Pompöös by Rosengarn by Harald Glööckler’, as the new collection is called to do justice to everyone involved, the exclusive end of the range has now been catered for once again – after all, fashion tends to become more opulent in times of crisis. On the one hand, the collection reflects Karin Plum’s impressive skills – just take a look at the detailed baroque evening dresses with playful ruffles or flouncy tops à la Olivia Newton-John in ‘Grease’. On the other hand, Plum’s sense of wearability has been incorporated, as classic costumes and leggings are also part of the collection.

Luxury made from latex

“I generally make a lot to measure and can realize almost any idea with latex,” explains Karin Plum. Her own designs are full of small effects that naturally make a big difference. It was important to Harald Glööckler that the collection had a high-quality look and exuded luxury. But even he took a practical approach at the same time: Latex is washable and disinfectable, an absolute plus in corona times.

That was an exciting project, but unfortunately the wrong time for elaborate party fashion 😉

Brilliant greetings,

your Karin from Rosengarn 🌹
