Newspaper article on the 20th birthday of Rosengarn
Success story from the Heinsberg district: Latex fashion for men
This is the headline to the article about rose yarn in the newspaper
I have compiled a few paragraphs from it for you here.
When Karin Plum set up her own business as a seamstress for latex clothing 20 years ago, she probably didn’t realise how her company “Rosengarn” would develop. The wife of a farmer has always enjoyed sewing – she came to latex through an acquaintance who was looking for a good seamstress who was confident enough to tackle unusual materials in the fetish sector.
Her trademark has become her red latex jacket in combination with a red hat. However, black and grey tones predominate in her studio. “My customers are mainly men,” says Karin Plum. Although she also made women’s clothing for many years, she then realised that men in particular love the feel of latex on their skin and want to wear it not only in private, but also in public.
After the Glööckler collection, Karin Plum once again designed and realised a spectacular women’s dress: the wedding dress for her daughter-in-law. “I didn’t push it at all, we initially looked in standard bridal fashion shops, but the spark wasn’t really there. Then my daughter-in-law had the idea herself and dared to ask if I could imagine sewing her wedding dress – in latex, of course.” The dress turned out really beautiful and, thanks to the attached lace, doesn’t look like a whimsical fashion sin at all, but rather like a princess’s dream in white, as most girls would wish. “And then the dress was really rocked out at a glittering party. My daughter-in-law felt very comfortable, it was something very special, and I am of course a very proud dressmaker and mother-in-law.”
