Stadtmarketing Linnich – Cycle tour “echt Scharf” (We in Linnich)
The motto of the 22nd “Wir in Linnich” cycle tour this time was “really hot”. Once again, the organization team succeeded in finding exciting and entertaining activities on the theme. From Place de Lesquin, the route went to the “Kräuterschuppen” in Körrenzig for breakfast.
Ulrike Walgenbach, a well-known nutritionist and teacher of medicinal and wild herbs in Linnich, surprised the group with spicy herb dips, cream cheese creations, jam and bread from her own kitchen. Well fortified, it was off to the “Latexschuppen” in Prummern.
Karin Plum awaited the cyclists there in her studio “Rosengarn”. Ms Plum specializes in latex clothing suitable for everyday use. From the production of the latex to the finished garment, the group was able to marvel at her impressive work: dresses, jackets, pants, skirts and much more…simply worth seeing.
Now it was time for the program item “Sharp Teeth 1”. This was a guided tour of the “Eschweiler” sawmill in Ederen. Heinz-Willi Spelthann captivated the group with lots of interesting facts about wood and wood processing. After a coffee break with delicious pastries and a spicy afternoon snack consisting of eggs with various types of mustard, wild garlic gherkins and dips, “hot teeth 2” awaited.
Who knows that there is a muzzle workshop in Ederen? Simone Müller makes muzzles that are individually customized for dogs. Now we know that a muzzle has many different functions: protection when visiting the vet, poison bait prevention (anti-poison bait), unwanted food intake, there are many reasons for wearing a muzzle.
Almost dry-shod, the group cycled to Lindern to the “sharp edges” of Willi Arlt’s sculpture exhibition. Many may be familiar with his works from the Hückelhoven traffic circle or from the Kultursommer. It was an enjoyable journey through the sculpture garden with many interesting exhibits.
Loaded with exciting impressions, the group drove back towards Körrenzig to round off this great tour. Over currywurst with homemade spicy ketchup and delicious salads from Ulrike Walgenbach’s herb parlor, the group sat together for a while and reflected on the day.
